I struggled to find an actual "leather" office chair. I discovered that there were about a half dozen ways to describe vinyl as pseudo-leather. This chair was advertised as "genuine" leather and as best I can tell, it is. My first impression when sitting in it for the first time was that it was very firm and I mean VERY. I perceive that it will wear in to be a bit cushier as time passes and I kind of like the firmness. The back is the perfect height for me and there is really good lumbar support. The armrests are hard plastic with no covering. The chair does what most do, swivels, goes up and down and tilts back. The assembly was easy and the hardware just a bit better than the other chair we had bought 2 weeks earlier. The supplied allen screws also had hex heads so you could do the final tightening with a 10mm socket and ratchet making them very secure. The fasteners had a lock-tite compound on them.I discovered for the first time, that my body type can be a factor in how a chair fits. I have a long torso and short legs (relatively). When I sit with my arms bent at 90 degrees, they don't quite reach the arm rests unless I lay them down a bit. My previous chair was better here. Because my legs are short (relatively) I have to stand on tippy-toes to tilt the chair back to the maximum angle. Not literally "stand" but bend my feet as if I were. The chair doesn't tilt as far as my previous chair and won't stay tilted unless I keep pressure on my toes as described. It's not particularily comfortable. My previous chair was balanced such that it would stay tilted until I leaned forward a bit. So, there are things I'm not crazy about but I still like the chair. In general, for sitting long periods, it's quite comfortable.HOWEVER !!! I am extremely dissappointed with the vendor who sold me this chair .... Shoplet. They shipped me a damaged and repaired chair. Had I seen the damage before final assembly had been completed, I would have returned the chair, but I had already discarded the carton and packing materials. The upper backrest has what looks like a scrape which resembles a tear that doesn't quite break all the way through the material. They attempted to repair this area by coating it with some sort of liquid sealer. It is very shiny in contrast to the basic leather color and looks bad. I can't believe I didn't see it sooner. It really detracts from the whole experience and I'm upset over the fact that this supplier knowingly shipped a damaged product as "New". I have posted photos showing the defect. I would stay clear of this supplier at all costs.
